リオデジャネイロ出身。大学でクラシックギターと作曲を学び、Itiberê ZwargやHermeto Pascoalというブラジル音楽の最重要人物に師事する。ギタリストとして、Hermeto Pascoal, Idriss Boudrioua, Yamandú Costa, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Nenê, Leny Andradeといったブラジルの重要な音楽家と数多く共演。Hermeto Pascoal直系のグループItiberê Orquestra Famíliaに10年間在籍し、3枚のアルバムに参加。Naná Vasconcelosと音楽を共作した舞台「Capitães da Areia(砂の戦士たち)」ではシェル賞の「作曲部門」にノミネートされるなど将来が有望視されるミュージシャンの1人である。現在はJoana Queitoz QuartetoやBambooなど、ブラジルの現代ジャズ・シーンで突出した存在として認められるグループに参加、アルバムのリリースやライブを精力的に行なっている。

Guitarist/Composer & Arranger/Producer

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Ramos completed classic guitar and composition at university,and studied under the prodigious Brazilian musicians such as Itiberê Zwarg and Hermeto Pascoal. As guitarist, Ramos has performed with important Brazilian musicians including Hermeto Pascoal, Idriss Boudrioua, Yamandú Costa, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Nenê, Leny Andrade and so on. Ramos has worked with Itiberê Orquestra Família, the direct line of Hermeto Pascoal, for ten years and joined three albums. The play “Capitães da Areia”, where Ramos composed music with Naná Vasconcel, was nominated for thecomposition category of Shell award. With his entire career, so far Ramos is one of the most promising musicians. His projects include album releases and live performances with crucial groups in the contemporary Jazz scenes in Brazil such as Joana Queitoz Quarteto, Bamboo etc.
